Scientists have been rather dubious by Lockheed Martin's recent declaration of a major discovery in the mist of nuclear fusion. The U.S. based defence manufacture broadcasted last Wednesday that it was working on a fresh compact fusion reactor which could potentially be nurtured and put in place in under 10 years. Although having read Lockheed's press release which is rather light in detail or content in general written in just four paragraphs. But What Is Fusion Energy? Fusion energy is one of the most promising technologies of the future by producing copious amounts of carbon free energy. To abstract energy from fusion, gas from both types of hydrogen, deuterium and tritium are heated to extreme temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius. One route to achieve this environment is called magnetic confinement, a process which  controls the hot gas referred to as a plasma with strong magnets. The most suitable infrastructure for this is named the 'tokamak' a Russian word for a ring shaped magnetic chamber. Consequently 1Kg of fusion fuel provides the equivalent of 10 million Kilograms of fossil fuel.. The small amount of fuel used in fusion devices weigh roughly the same as a post stamp meaning that the process is relatively safe in which a large scale nuclear accident would safely be ruled out the equation. Although I myself am skeptical of Lockheed's design. They are using the magnetic mirror effect, which is ineffective when it comes to confining hot plasma. In truth it's the hottest plasma which  has the magnitude to escape from a design of this caliber. Nether the less, while we may be a few decades away from the helm of nuclear fusion technology there are many other ways you guys at home can get involved to help lower your energy usage and save on costly energy bills. With technology developing at a galactic speed certain electric appliances have appeared on the market which can provide a surprising amount of energy efficiency such as a new generation of electric radiators. They work through highly accurate thermostats and are potentially cheaper than gas heating systems. Director Steven Cowley of the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy based in Oxfordshire responded by explaining he is so suppressed and confused that one is unsure how to react. Clowley went on to say Lockheed has announced all the predictable things imaginable regarding how it is going to save the world and how pleasant it would be if the reactor could be as small as a shipping container etc. but fundamentally failed to expand on details in which their triumph can be judged. My Electric Radiators are fanatical when it comes to broadcasting the latest news and views in anything UK energy related. They also supply highly energy efficient electric heating solutions They are attentive in helping reduce your energy bills and lower your carbon footprint. For further information on their range of energy efficient electric radiators then call them today on 01423 881167 for free and friendly assesment.
